Strategizing Curriculum
SPRING 2016
"The client, Professor Osman, is an American studies teacher. His class 'America is the 60th' follows American history through the Vietnam War, part of the Cold War and other major international events the United States played a role in. Professor Osman teaches his class by projecting a word document on a blank screen and scrolling through it during his lecture. He finds this method not engaging enough for the students and wishes to find a better way to lead his lectures. Additionally, keeping track and taking attendance can be quite a challenge is his class of 76 students and often has low attendance records. Finally, Professor Osman’s class suffers from low participation and engagement from students as they are often distracted by their laptops. In an effort to modernize his classroom, Professor Osman has set the following objectives for this project: Create and implement PowerPoint presentations to better communicate class material and engage students, create and implement an attendance database to better track class attendance and participation as well as encourage students to attend class, and improve class participation and enthusiasm by better engaging students."

Agnes: IOS App Content Development & Marketing Strategy
Fall 2017
The client this year is Agnes, a mobile app that helps college students discover events and organizations on campus. Two task forces comprised of 17 UCG analysts have worked to expand Agnes’s presence and capabilities at GW. The Marketing and Branding team, under the management of seniors Sam Eppler and Calista Tavallali, has formulated a strategic marketing campaign to foster brand awareness and expand Agnes’s user base on campus. The Research and Development team, under the management of junior Reid Bradt and senior Stephen Park, has worked with the mobile app’s creators to improve overall functionality and orient the application’s capabilities towards the preferences of students at GW. Through coordination with a driven small business that is determined to thrive in the active community of Foggy Bottom and D.C. in general, we have seen great potential in helping Agnes achieve its goals. Through this partnership, UCG members and analysts have had fantastic opportunities to develop skills vital to the consulting world; from having face-to-face meetings and strategic planning sessions with the client, to executing marketing campaigns and functionality initiatives, our analysts are earnestly fashioning a mindset of business and organizational development.
