Developing iOS Content

Fall 2017

“This year, UCG partnered with Agnes, a mobile app designed to help college students discover events and organizations on campus. Two dedicated task forces comprised of 17 of UCG’s Student Consultants collaborated to enhance Agnes’ presence and capabilities in the greater Foggy Bottom area. The Marketing and Branding Team, managed by seniors Sam Eppler and Calista Tavallali, developed a comprehensive marketing campaign to increase brand awareness by expanding Agnes's user base at GW. Simultaneously, the Research and Development Team, led by junior Reid Bradt and senior Stephen Park, worked closely with the app's creators to improve its functionality, tailoring its features to the preferences of GW students. This partnership has provided UCG members with valuable opportunities to hone their consulting skills as they engaged in collaborative client meetings and strategic planning sessions, all while cultivating expertise in business development.”

Modernizing Academic Curriculums

SPRING 2016

"The client, Professor Osman, is an American studies teacher. His course ‘America is The 60th’ takes students through the United States’ role in the Vietnam War, Cold War, and other major international events. Professor Osman’s primary teaching method is first projecting a MS Word document onto the front board, then lecturing while scrolling through written content. He finds this method not engaging enough for the students and wishes to improve his lectures. Additionally, in his class of about 80 students, recording and tracking attendance can be quite a challenge. Finally, Professor Osman’s class suffers from low participation and interaction from students as they are often distracted by their laptops. In an effort to modernize his classroom, Professor Osman has asked UCG to spearhead this project with the following objectives: create PowerPoint presentations from Word documents to enhance communication of class material, implement an attendance database with a grading scale to track and incentivize class participation, and conduct a student feedback survey to identify strategies for fostering classroom engagement.”
